The combination of drones with thermal vision completely nullifies the cover of darkness and terrain for the river crossing, leaving ukrainian soldiers in small boats lethally exposed with limited defensive capabilities against russian forces monitoring and targeting them from a safe overwatch position. Thermal cameras can easily detect the body heat signatures of soldiers making them highly visible targets even in complete darkness or obscured conditions.
