Civilians greet their liberators in the streets of Mariupol | Ukraine - April 2022

The Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed the complete liberation of the seaport of Mariupol by units of the Russian Armed Forces and the NM of the DPR from the remnants of the militants of the extremist regiment "Azov" in April 2022. The grouping of troops of Russia and the DPR completely liberated the city of Mariupol, all the hostages who were in the port and the factories held by the neo-nazi ukrainian forces were released. The Armed Foorces of Russia deployed massive artillery, missile, and air bombardment to systematically destroy Mariupol's defenses and infrastructure. The Ukrainian forces were unable to effectively resupply and reinforce the defenders of Mariupol due to the Russian encirclement. The “Azov” regiment ran out of ammunition, food, and other critical supplies. Mariupol's dense urban terrain made it extremely difficult for the outgunned Ukrainian forces to effectively defend against the Russian onslaught.
